Snapping with scrubber?
Many times I grab the red handle at the bottom of the scrubber to open up a gap to add more footage when editing. When I drag back to the left, to close a gap, I can't snap to an object, even if snapping is turned on. Easy to leave an inadvertent gap or overwrite an object and create an unwanted transition. Anyone?
SF7, Mac OS 10.12.6.

The last version of 7 series was 7.3.2 so make sure you're there because updates may include feature improvement.
Otherwise, I'd recommend testing 8.2.3 which is Sierra (10.12.6) compatible. If there's still an issue you can request a feature improvement. -
Testing 7.3.2 on 10.13.6 High Sierra it seems to snap for me.

I think that appears to work for you because you are zoomed in very tightly - clips move frame by frame at a high zoom level. Take a look at the atached file I made - I did this with 8.2.3 on High Sierra, as you suggested.

Roger Shufflebottom Hmm. I'm zoomed out to the point where I'm only seeing Minutes labeled and it's still snapping for me. You can see the "snap" as it gets close.

Very odd. Does not work for me at all and it would be useful. Anyone else comment?

The only thing I had turned on in Accessibility was Option to zoom with the mouse wheel. Turned this off. No change. I also had MagicPrefs in use but I've tuned that off - no change.

Roger Shufflebottom Truly odd because, as you can see, it works for me even when I'm looking at a zoomed out timeline.
You can make a feature request but the developers will need to know under what circumstances it isn't working or perhaps experience it first hand on one of their computers. Perhaps they can just make the snapping more pronounced.
Perhaps create a completely New User Admin account and test in that account. That will let you know if it's a system or user account based issue. -
I'll keep investigating and will try a new account but I see the same behaviour on three different Macs with different OSs and different versions of ScreenFlow.

I tried a different account (not admin, sorry) on my work computer. No good. Then got a colleague who has recently installed 8.2.3 on his Mac (High Sierra) and he can't get snapping to work either. So that's four Macs where this feature doesn't work for us.

Roger Shufflebottom You can make the request but perhaps there's something in common with your setups that we may not be experiencing.

Made a new admin account on my home machine. Still doesn't work. That's a MacPro 27", a MacBook Pro 15", a MacBook Pro 13" and a MacBook Air (I think). Some work machines, some personal machines. The only common feature I can think of is that we are in the UK, not the USA.

Roger Shufflebottom Hmm, perhaps an OS setting? It works for me on two machines. Are you using trackpad or third party mouse? Wondering if the input device or its settings might be having an impact. Might it even be the "speed" or "sensitivity" settings of the device in System Preferences?

OK - I made a brand new Admin account on my MacBook Pro (OS 10.12.6) and tested with absolutely no other apps running and no changes at all to the default prefs created by the new account. Still no good (I attach a video).

Please check your settings since trackpad/mouse responsiveness may be a factor. Perhaps the response on 10.12.6 is different than 10.13.6 but snapping is truly working for us.
I've tested on iMac Pro and 2013 15" MBP running 10.13.6

BTW you can certainly force it passed the snapping point. Snapping isn't a brick wall. You can see the "snap" though and at that point, you stop otherwise you'll most certainly push past it.
