Error in processing video files

Hi Team,

I get below error on our media servers  while processing any type of video files.

Could you please advise what could be the issue and possible resolution? We have flip factory installed on these.

  • Seems you're missing a license for a codec. It's hard to know what without more details. Source codec? Destination codec? Version of FlipFactory?

    The  log has these details. It fails for almost all types of videos. So depending on the type of video source format and target format are different. FlipFactory version is 6.7.

    When I run the Server Status Inquiry from License Tool on host , I see bunch of these messages

     

    This is the correct node for this node-locked license, but
    I don't know if the license-key is good or not

  • I assume this was working previously and this is not a new install. Did you do any recent updates? Any changes to your network?

  • It was working fine and suddenly stopped processing with these errors. I tried to uninstall and install again AVTS and MTS but no luck. No changes in network/server configs.

  • Not seeing a FlipFactory 6.7 in the version history. Can you confirm the version number?
    Since it seems to be reporting a licensing issue it's possible it's phoning home and the license failed given the age of the product.
    You can contact support but support has ended. They might be able to tell you if there's a licensing server issue and a possible workaround although they may tell you to upgrade to Vantage.

    Where do you find FlipFactory version? I am unable to find. 6.7 is the CTS version on host.

  • Anand Mohan 6.1 was released nearly nine years ago. It's possible something broke the licensing. Contact support with the link I provided and see if they can offer a workaround if it's a licensing issue.

    Thanks for your response. Do you know why would the server would start processing older assets? This is very strange issue now happening.

    Currently both the servers are accessing older assets in their queue and trying to process them? Is there a place where the older ids are stored and is there a way to clear them so that only new assets are picked up? Thanks a lot !!!

  • I got the older assets issue fixed but it seems the video files are still not rendering.

  • Anand Mohan If it's due to the same licensing error please contact support. They'd have to investigate why the licensing is failing. That may be due to access to the licensing server.
