Audio "healing brush" (help title this)

This is kinda wild, but here's the idea.

A time-consuming part of our editing process is removing the little gulps and lip-smacks and stuff from in between sentences. We try our best - but sometimes our bellies grumble!

In photoshop - and graphics programs like that, there is the concept of this "healing" brush. It takes nearby data and uses it to fix another part of the image.

imagine that you could just select the growling tummy - and have it filled in and normalized with the sound to the left and the right of it --- effectively removing it.

It could probably be done non-destructively - but a destructive option would be just fine.

This ties in with our other thoughts about establishing a room tone layer that can be used to fill in gaps.

  • Do you know of another editing program or third-party audio plugin that has similar? Developers may need to look at examples.
