WC "forgets" my Audiobox audio shot
I've been live streaming with WC, (currently version 14.3.4), for several years with basically the same equipment except for upgrade to newer version MacBook Pro. My audio consists of two mic inputs delivered to my computer via a Personus Audiobox USB input device. I have a shot of the AudioBox USB audio input that serves as my audio source for streaming. This has worked well until just recently. When I hook up my equipment and open WC, the Audiobox shot shows up but it is "dead". It does not show the audio signal bar with mic input. I'm forced to recreate a new Audiobox shot and enter all the filter information again. I've replaced the USB cable and re-installed WC after deleting what I think are all of the preference files. Finally I bought a newer version of the Personus device (Audiobox USB96). Problem continues. Does anyone have any ideas what might be wrong and what I can do to fi this? Thanks
John

Did this occur when you first used the new MBP?John Baughman said:

Also, you describe it as "forgetting" the shot. Yet you describe it as seeing the shot but just not getting the audio. Please clarify. -

The shot shows up on opening the document but shows no acknowledgement of the audio input device.Sorry but I don't understand this. A previously created and saved document may (or may not) assign the shot in certain cases with USB devices. A new document you'd make the assignment.

Perhaps if I remove all traces of WC and re-install that might fix the issue?you could do a Preference Reset as that's the thing always left behind. Wirecast > Help > Send Support Information and then hit the Reset Preferences button and restart Wirecast.

Let me state this as simply as I can since my more detailed description is not clear:
I set up a WC document and created an audio shot with Audiobox96 usb input to my MacBook Pro. This was done in 2017 or 2018. I conduct a live stream and everything works as it should. Audio from the usb input device is accessed by making the Audiobox96 shot live. I then shut down my computer and disconnect the usb input since I use this computer off site. One week later I connect my computer to the usb input again, open up the WC document, finding that the previously created Audiobox96 shot works perfectly as before. After the broadcast I disconnect my computer until needed the following week. I repeat the above process weekly for more than two years without a problem, using the same WC document. But now, following the same procedures, when I open WC the Audiobox96 shot shows no audio signal. It is “dead”. My only option is to create a new audio shot by selecting Audiobox96 as the source. Then I have to set up the filters and other settings on the new shot. I have tried to fix this issue by creating multiple new documents from scratch with the same results. Running any of the old or new WC documents on my wife’s computer seems on preliminary testing to solve the problem.

Did you try resetting Preferences?

Post macOS for each and details on the specific Mac models.
Having multiple USB devices might cause the issue since their OS "assignment" might change on reboot. -
My MacBook Pro 16 inch 2019, 16 GB RAM, Mac OS Big Sur 11.6
Wife’s MacBook Air M1 2020, 8GB RAM, MacOS Monterey 12.1
I have completely (as far as I am able) uninstalled WC, downloaded a fresh installation, created a new user on my Mac. I will create an entirely new WC document and create an audio shot with my usb audio input. I’ll report on success or lack thereof. Thanks for all your assistance and time. John
