Guest not hearing another Guest

Had this issue pop up on a live stream just now. Show launched with two RV guests. No issues at the start. Several minutes in, Guest 1 is fine, but Guest 2 gets dropped, then tries to come back in. Guest 2 hears me (director) and sees, but doesn't hear Guest 1. Guest 2 tries a different laptop; same result. Tries Wirecast Go; same result. Always able to hear director, and see Guest 1, but not hear Guest 1. As soon as show concludes, Guest 2 begins hearing Guest 1 again. Um, WHAT???

    I assume guest 2 was able to hear you when they reconnected. Is that correct? 

    The one thing that might have changed is bandwidth given the show concluded.

    Do you think you can reproduce the issue? If so I can have you enable Rendezvous logging and we would then analyze the log.

  • Hi CraigS this is the first time this is happened, and both guests have participated in multiple shows with no issue. Yes, Guest 2 could hear me but not Guest 1, on all three devices he rejoined from (again including Wirecast Go). Yes, I'm using 14.0.1. I'll be using Skype NDI for the next show with these particular guests, but I still need Rendezvous to be a reliable tool for several shows every week. Happy to turn on logging.

      Mark Leblang For guest with the problem hearing did you see a "P" icon near their camera icon. That will let us know that they may have been going through our proxy server.

      Mark Leblang So far in our investigation:
       

      • The issue only for Firefox guests, where some of them could not hear other session guests.
      • Switching remote audio mute button for not hearable guests, makes the audio work. The remote audio mute button has a reversed logic in that case. When button shows un-muted state, the remote guest is not hearable and when muted, it can be heard.

      If you see this issue again please test this.

     Logging does use significant resources. But if you test with the same guest perhaps you can repeat the issue. The log will tell us what the point of failure might be.

  • CraigS , no; the TURN server did not seem to be in use during that event. Using the 70+ events I've produced since March, the only time I get a "P" icon is when one of our presenters is joining from our corporate network, rather than from home. In this case, Guest 2 has remarked about how much CPU Rendezvous consumes on his machine, but that doesn't explain the issue extending over to Wirecast Go.

       So far is this the only guest you've had that experienced the audio issue?

      Perhaps at this point, you should start the Rendezvous Logging process and initiated a call with this and another guest (which may confirm only the guest with the issue continues to experience the issue) and try to recreate the issue.

      If you successfully recreate the issue ....
       

      Shift key Wirecast > Preferences > Debug > Rendezvous Logging > On
      (do the same changing to Off to end logging after sending in the Report)

      Wirecast Help > Send Support Information... > Create support Ticket and fill out all information and description > Send Report.

  • I have four guests and this is happened to me three times.  I have see the P once. But this is happened a number of times.  First I have no idea why it would crash.  Crashing is really killing the vibe when you are making a show.  Next getting everyone back on fast is important.  (most crashes happen when I and setting the output settings.  starting to record or setting a configuration to a multi-monitor setup.  But the big issues is that the guests cannot hear each other but can here the host and director.  once it happened after a crash. the second time the guy with a p under his video was the odd man out. and tonight after months of getting a neurosurgeon on the show we have a pause, crash, and half of the people could not hear the other half. They tried for 30 mins and then they gave up. (VERY ANGRY) at me for wasting their time.  There has to be a way to get this to debug or reset a session or something alot quicker.

    Hi all, 

    I've had a similar experience.

    I was streaming a E-Press conference in association with channel 5, three people, but the host couldn’t be heard but one of the guests and one of the guests couldn’t be heard by the host. I was 100% sure it wasn’t the them. I ended the rendezvous session and started a fresh link and no luck.

    In the end I had to reschedule and worked fine the following day. 
     

    Last night I had the exact issue but with four guests and had no option to reschedule. It was extremely stressful and had to the zoom video chat service and capture ‘ zoom window ‘ > duplicate it four times  and crop every  call in shot. 
     

    would be amazing if this could be resolved as I worry every time I’m ask to do these jobs.


    I use a Razer Blade Studio laptop with a Nvidia RTX 5000 graphics card if this information helps.
