Duplicate Shots

After updating to Wirecast 14 (on Mac), when I duplicate a shot all the text changes apply to all the duplicates. Is there way to turn that off? "Text" is selected in the duplicate shot options which I think IS the actual way to turn it off. Anything else I can do or a possible reason why isn't working?

    • CraigS I have that setting on for all my shots. They still update if I change one. Is there anything else that I can do or maybe why it's not working?

      Thank you so much!

  • Keep in mind sometimes you want elements to be linked so all instances match if you make a change and, sometimes you don't. So we give you the option to do either way with specific elements that you duplicate.

  • Hi Craig, is there a way to duplicate a text layer inside a shot? I would like to have the option of choosing from several book titles in my lower third, and it would be convenient to have them all in the same shot as layers that I can activate when necessary instead of transitioning from one shot to the other. I didn't find a simple way to do that other than creating every time a new text layer and go through the long process of formating, scaling and so on.

CraigS  :(( must have had a bad day... I thought I tried this, but that changing the text content in the duplicated element changed it also in the source element. Thanks anyway.

      Amnon You're welcome of course.
I have no problem changing the text in each of the copies individually so they are different.
