Text resize in bounding box

Hello,

I'd like to be able to draw a rectangular text box (around a lower third box) and resize the text while maintaining the box size I created - vertically & horizontally center within the box as well.

Presently it's very difficult to center text to an object (unless I'm missing something).

Thanks!
Jon

It sounds almost as if you're asking for a workaround. Is there a reason why you're not asking for a center text in the text box feature?

I want to align the text to the rectangle. For example, if I have a pip with a 3 box, below the pip is a rectangle for the talent's name/lower third, I want to size the text (horizontal center and vertical-align center) to the rectangular box below their video. I want to make sure all the text lines up and adjust the font size so all are the same size (as you can do in livestream studio).

I hope that makes sense. Thanks for considering.

Each Text Box has Justify and Align.

Great example of what I'm talking about. It's difficult to get all three titles to line up. If the text box was able to be aligned to the black box, then center and vertically align to that bounding box, it would very easy to align all three titles to each other.

Jon Polmar They can be aligned to each other. That's what the alignment guide is for.
You can see the black box for Sally Jones. While all three black boxes aren't visible, if you look there's a yellow alignment line running through them showing they line up. There one that runs through the guest C box which shows it's center aligned to that as well.

I'd like to be able to draw text boxes (like attached) and then align and v-align to that box as well as change font size. This way all 3 titles in example will be perfectly aligned.

Also the text should scale proportionally to the size of the box.

Jon Polmar What you're showing doesn't seem to just alignment but creating boxes that have both guest and text area. Again you can do that now very easily with separate text boxes.

      Text does that now.

CraigS Sorry, but I disagree...lets say I want them all centered and the John big name doesn't fit so I have to make his font smaller. It's much easier to have these boxes where the text fits (vs. a text box itself), then I can adjust all the font sizes to be the same, they are all perfectly aligned. Presently, I find it difficult to center and align multiple text box object and the yellow crosshair line you mentioned isn't optimal, IMO. Thanks for the consideration and your input on this.

     Isn't this contradictory?

Perhaps you should create a video showing the workflow you'd want to do.
