NDI Audio Source Delay If Not Using NDI Audio?

Hi...

I think the answer to my question is probably obvious but I'd like to confirm. I'm one of several semi-knowledgable volunteers that run Wirecast on Sundays for streaming church services. So, we're all learning as we go... anyhow...

Our streaming setup uses 3 NDI cameras, video only. Our audio source is a mixing board. We're occasionally seeing maybe a half second audio delay when streaming sometimes. Some of us have attempted to address this by adjusting the audio delay setting in the NDI camera source, but I'm pretty sure this does nothing, since we're not using NDI audio, just video. Am I interpreting that correctly?

thanks...

Patrick McNamara

Depending on the sync offset needed you can either change the NDI Video delay or the Audio Source (mixing board) delay. If you're not using NDI audio there's nothing to do with NDI audio delay.

    • CraigS Thanks, I appreciate the reply; it confirms my assumption. One of our other helpers had adjusted the NDI audio delay while troubleshooting a Facebook stream being out of sync, said it helped, but I'm thinking it was coincidental.

Patrick McNamara If you don't want to test while live you can do a local recording and examine the file and then adjust as needed and test again.
