Gear 210 Version 9.0.1 Can't Upgrade

We are repurposing our older Gear 210 and have tried to upgrade the software. The system will not install any update. We are getting the following messages:

"The Wirecast.msi file can not be found" "The older installation can not be deleted"

We've contacted support, got a acknowledgement but have not received a solution.

Anybody has any ideas?

What version Windows are you on?
Have you tried deleting version 9 first from Windows Control Panel Programs?

  • Windows 10 latest update.  I have not tried to delete the version 9 because I wasn't sure if it would create problems with the Gear 210.

Fulton County It's possible the current version may not be overwriting 9 properly. Do delete it first and then reboot the Gear.

  • Below are the messages I get when I try to modify Wirecast. I can't unintall from the App folder in Settings which says it's version 8.... I haven't tried to delete the entire folder in the Programs. Any attempt to upgrade results in these messages. The "Wirecast.msi" doesn't exist on the system.

     What version Windows 10?
The current version is 10 20H2.
    Please check that.

Version 9.0.1 is available here under Previous Versions at the top.
Of course you can download Wirecast 14.1.1 here as well but it requires 1803 but thinking you might have an earlier version.

Fulton County 14.1.1 or did you try to install 9.0.1 again?
Again double-check the specific version of Windows 10 as it may not install before 1803. Current version is 20H2 and the previous is 2004. I believe we recommend 1909 and newer.

  • Updated to 20H2 and I continue to get same error message. No version of Wirecast will install on the box 9 - 14. The installer package is corrupted and appears to be beyond anything I can do since it can't find the file. I just paid for support and I have an event coming up. Now I can't use the 210 since the software won't load.

Do you have a case number with support that you can post here? If it's premium they should be able to remote into your machine and help with the install.

Have you tried right-clicking on the installer and selecting Run As Administrator?

  • The support for the 210 is not premium. We have premium support on the 420 unit. I was just instructed to do a system recovery by Support. I want to make sure I don't lose the Titler software.

  • The system is working after they had us to download a registry corrector from MS. We loaded v. 12

Fulton County Interesting solution. At least you're on version 12.
