Adding within a layer a previously deleted Wirecast Go shot
Hello,
Last night I tested out a Wirecast Go connect within Wirecast running on a Gear 420. I added the shot successfully and afterward I deleted the shot from the layer. A little while later, I attempted to add the previously deleted Wirecast Go source back into the layer and Wirecast said that the source (Wirecast Go IP) already existed. Is there a way to flash out the connection so if I need to readd a previously deleted Wirecast Go source I don't get a conflict? Thanks in advance.

CraigS I wonder if this is another case of the Wirecast XML document not actually doing the garbage collection on the source... I don't have Wirecast Go so I can't test but it would be interesting to see if the document still references it like it does for removed and cleared from asset manager Titler Live assets.

Brian Willis The XML file is just literally the wcst file. You an rename a Wireacst file to use ".xml" instead of ".wcst" and open it in a code editor.
Wirecast being open doesn't do anything harmful since unlike it's competitors, Wirecast doesn't automatically save changes automatically in case of crashes.

I was hoping there was a way to restore without shutting down Wirecast.Regrettably, that is not possible. While matthew has told you how to edit - that will require re-opening the file, and therefore going off-air.
As hinted by Matthew above, this appears to be related to a Wirecast bug, where deleting assets does not totally remove the data from memory and from the WCST files.
