Wirecast 8.2

Anyone else having issues with 8.2 hanging when you select an NDI or Desktop Presenter? It continues to stream. I can't select a different camera afterr trying to select NDI external running Pro Presenter

    Perhaps you're having a local wifi issue?
    You may want to check using NDI Monitor and take Wirecast out of the picture to test the NDI.

  • NDI is fine and running the latest version, even so it should not freeze the program causing a reboot in the middle of a stream. I check the network speed first thing and NDI works fine on other computer players. It also worked fine on version 8.5

     I haven't seen other reports of this so please confirm with NDI Monitor on the same computer.

    If you're also having issues with Desktop Presenter it does point towards a potential wifi issue though since that's what they have in common.

    I'd like to help but I need to know more about your setup otherwise I can only speak in generalities.
    Please describe your entire setup in more detail.

    Please start with a New Blank Document.
    Create only the NDI shot from the ProPresenter Computer.
    When testing make sure not other programs are running on the Wirecast computer.
    Use Ethernet rather than Wifi and limit other network activity.
    For testing purposes disable any Firewall you may have.

  • I found the issue, it is a wirecast bug. The keyboard Shortcuts was causing the issue. When the sw upgraded it must have corrupted something in the shortcut file. It works fine with the mouse. As soon as I used the keyboard shortcuts it hung. I deleted all the shortcut mapping and made new maps and it seems to be working now.

  • David Christian Preferences (saved settings including the shortcuts) can become corrupted. That's why we offer reset preferences, Wirecast > Help > Send Support Information but click lower left reset preferences. Then you'd start with a new blank document and create the shortcuts again. Good to hear you found and solved the issue.
