What graphics card to get? Nvidia or Radeon

Hello everyone

I am currently running Wirecast on a PC with NO (!) graphics card other than what is on board. Especially the GUI when working is very bogged down. Do I am now going to buy a graphics card and need some advice.

I am currently looking at:

Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650

AMD Radeon RX 580 MSI Armor OC 4GB

Other suggestions are very welcome.

The rest of my rig is
* Intel i7 Quad Core Processor @ 3+ Ghz
* 16+ GB RAM
* Windows 10

PS: I know absolutely nothing about graphics cards or what is good for Wirecast. So all info is welcome.

  • The advantage an NVIDIA card brings is that if the card supports NVENC encoding Wirecast can use that instead of the CPU or Intel QuickSync.

    I will add that as we consider moving some things to the GPU, its role will become more important.

    Perhaps users will have more to add.

  • Thanks Craig

    I got the the Nvidia based card, and so far so good. Good performance!

  • Christian Marcussen Great to hear. You're welcome of course.
