Expired?

I just started wirecast on my workstation, and got this. Note - it thinks I am using version "null"...

  • CraigS - 10.0.0 (44.4199b7b7). The weird thing - I have two workstations (that I don't use at the same time). One is fine (my MacBook), but the other (my iMac) has started displaying this message.

That kind of defeats the purpose of beta testing. Yes, I could have done that without posting in the beta forum. The whole purpose of beta testing is to find and fix bugs. How did it get this way? Why is it showing the version as "null"?

I'll not reset the license for now - in case someone else wants data that would be otherwise erased if I took that action.

Actually it is testing. One tests to see what the cause is, to test whether something is impacting something else.

I have been beta testing now for around 30 years when I was first asked to beta test modems for an Australian manufacturer. That is not testing, it is a kludge or workaround when you perform a destructive action that will remove details and/or evidence of the root cause.

If I were to perform your requested action - how would you determine root cause?

  • I did some followup on this a while back for your information, but forgot to update this thread. I did a SSL proxy intercept, and found that the Wirecast license server was responding with an error message. Yes, it can be fixed by deactivate / re-activate... but the problem was bad data in your back-end. I think I did update this in another thread where someone else had the issue, but thought it would be good to document here as well.
