Good day.

We are facing this problem after your last update.

Previously, three channels were launched without problems. And now we are getting a loss of frames. You can watch the video for yourself.

Ilqar Please confirm you have updated to Wirecast 14.2.1.
It looks like you have having a problem with low frame rate in Playlist.
What version were you one when this last worked?

Please create a New Blank Document and import just one file. Do not create a Playlist. Play the file back in the Live area and see what it looks like.

  • Yes, we have the latest version of the program.

Unfortunately, the problem was solved only by restarting the server and restarting all playlists.

We even tried to completely close and restart the program, but this did not help either.
There were no such problems before the update.

If it is working now perhaps that solved the problem. Sometimes updating to a new version may impact a document.

  • WELL this can't go on forever. It would be logical for you to check the update file or release a patch.

Ilqar Sorry but I'm not sure what update file you're referring to.  I don't see any other user reports that match yours. Since you mentioned restarting fixed the issue it may have been with the document or the computer's resources needed for the number of files in your playlist.

I previously recommended you test with a New Blank Document and one file. In order to troubleshoot you'd should follow our instructions since we have no reports of this for us to test otherwise. I'd like to help but you have to follow our instructions.

  • Regardless of the changes, these friezes occur. We just got tired of restarting the server every time. There were no such problems on the previous version of Wirecast. If we were, we would immediately write to you about them. After the update, friezes began to appear.

Ilqar if you see the issue in the earlier version of 14 you install then it does mean something else changed.

  • You misunderstood. There are no problems with the old version, or rather 14.0. Problems came out with the version update to 14.2.1

Ilqar rolling back to 14.0 fixes the issue. You've confirmed this?

You may want to test 14.3 Beta to see if that fixes the issue as well.

  • Not yet confirmed. We will check the work of version 14.0 at the end of the week.

  • We have installed version 14.0 and will be testing to verify. If there are no problems, we will conclude that they were due to the update. And until a patch is released that fixes this bug, we will not update to the new version.

Ilqar It's possible that the newer version of Wirecast may be having issues with some codecs.
Can you list the codec types/containers you are using and possibly how many of each?

Sorry for the late reply. I did not receive a letter stating that you answered. Yes, literally after a while. Maybe even right after compiling a playlist.

I also want to point out one more problem. This problem exists in all versions. Both old and new.
As you can see, the duration of the file in the folder is indicated. But when I add the file to Wirecast for some reason, the duration is drastically reduced. This happens with these specified files. We tried on different playlists, tried to add the file again. The same problem.

And that will give us important information to investigate.
If you now see the issue in 14.0x it may mean there's another issue.

There was also 14.1.1 between 14.0 and 14.2.1 which might be worth checking depending on your 14.0x results.

So far we can't reproduce the issue with the material you provided. In our tests, it's never right after compiling a playlist though.

No other users have reported this. You need to give us an amount of time we should test for.

We're not seeing this issue either. Perhaps there's an issue with the metadata of some of your files. In order to test we need a file that shows this issue.

I sent you files that Wirecast cut their duration.
You offered me to select a file and select Modify Duration.

I tested this point and this is what it led to:

If the length of the file is 20 minutes and Wirecast cuts it for some reason to 3-4 minutes. We used the Modify Duration function and increased the file duration to 20 minutes. But Wirecast gave us the fact that the file plays for 3-4 minutes, as long as it cut it and continues to broadcast this file until 20 minutes are typed. That is, the file is practically on repeat.

      Did you understand me?

Telestream Switch reports the shortened durations. I think there's another metadata issue with the files.

It's possible the issue requires using a very large number of files or letting the playlist run a long time. But we need to know that to test those specific workflows.
If we test with those four files only for only a few minutes they all play full frame rate.

the video that opens in Wirecast, because it meets all of the MediaFoundation requirements. For example, you can see in the Video tab of the Switch inspector that the AVC profile is "High":

However, the video not importing is missing the AVC profile information. The AVC profile value embedded in the file is zero, which is not a valid profile. This file has the same problem for the AVC level. You can also see that in the Switch inspector:

As a workaround, the user could rewrap the file with another app that properly embeds the profile information.
