Content ID Claim on YouTube
So far I've posted 7 unlisted videos on YouTube, all created with Screenflow. On the earlier ones I experimented with a bit of background music, a few sound effects, but by the time I got to the latest I had done away with all that, and had also tried to make the pacing quicker. My soundtrack is all narration by me.
Imagine my surprise when, during the uploading process I got a Content ID claim, saying that between two points in my timeline I had the melody from "We Rock the World [Acappella]" from Polaris Hub AB. Not only have I never heard of this song, but I have no music at all in the video!
YouTube seems to imply that this is all nothing to do with them, but there must be some sort of (crap) algorithm involved, as there sure as hell isn't some human sitting reviewing in microseconds the content of every one of the thousands of pieces of content uploaded every minute of the day.
So, I've put in a dispute. Is this sort of idiocy common? Has anyone else run into this problem?

YouTube algorithm. I've even experienced this with original music in which some notes sounded like part of a melody of some popular music. I can imagine of a speaker said something that mirrored words in a song lyric it might throw a trigger as well.-
CraigS Indeed... I looked for this song, and a lot of it is just talking, so since all I had was narration, the dumb bot would have been matching speaking as the "melody" it claims to have matched on. Duh....

The same thing happened to me. I uploaded an acapella song and then I got a Copyright Claim saying that it belongs to Polaris Hub AB.
I don’t mind at all if the claim came from the composer of the song.
I was surprised that this is nothing to do with Polaris Hub AB.
I'm planning to put it in a dispute. But I need to know what happened after.
Would you please share what happened after you put in a dispute?

Michele YouTube scans music automatically (a "bot"). Songs can be flagged due to the music or the lyrics (both can be copyrighted). They often flag licensed stock music by mistake. They also make mistakes in music and lyrics.
