Wirecast doesn't start any outputs until the user initiates it.
I'm not sure it would be wise to do that until proper hardware setup is confirmed by the user.

Eric Holyak Check that the Decklink card is ready. Check for driver updates, etc. Often people don't want to send until a Quality Control check is done for the document. Sending live only to discover you have to stop and fix something can be disruptive.
It might be possible to script something as Wirecast works with Apple Script but I'd still want to check everything first when opening a document.

The live signal that would be sent is to a hardware encoder that is started manually. We test everything after the signal is sent to the encoder. Starting the output automatically would be a dream for us.
I notice that the user guide no longer refers to apple scripting at all. Is this going away?

We'd love this as well. Or even if it wasn't automatic when the file was loaded if there was a button on the toolbar that could be configured. The "Enable All Displays" button was a game changer for us because it was an easy way to remember to hit "broadcast", "record", and "in-house output". But the "Enable All Displays" only works with video card outputs and we recently switched over to a Decklink for all our inputs and outputs.
