Allow nesting individual clips
This might seem like an odd request but at Sketch we would love to be able to create a nested clip with only a single clip selected. This would help us for a couple of reasons:
1: We nest clips recorded on multiple different display sizes as a way of cropping footage down and "resetting" the zoom level to 100% — so we can all share the same presets and video actions to apply on the "outside" of the nested clip.
2: Sometimes we just want to establish a nested clip that we'll add more stuff too later.
Currently we're splitting clips just to turn them into 2 so that we can select them both, nest them, and then get rid of the split afterwards. It would be nice to not have to do this sort of workaround.

Explain the advantage of this in a specific workflow.

Basically creating a section that I will later add stuff into it.Developers would want an example of what "stuff" you're adding to a single clip that would require nesting first. They need to know why you must nest the clip to add things since the same stuff can be added to an individual clip. Investigating request FLOW-11656

Developers are a bit confused (as am I) about what you'd used an individual nested clip for.
Using it as a placeholder is outside the intended use. Using it to crop or scale seems unnecessary given you can already do that to a clip as is.
They're going to need a detailed use, perhaps a video recording showing how you are using it (splitting the clip to do something you currently can't but want to do).

Nesting clips add another layer of effects you can apply to a clip.Sorry but this is not clear to the developers as you can add to the clip directly. If you're trying to use it as a "repository" for multiple actions or callouts they need to see exactly what you are doing and why the Nest is necessary. Perhaps you need to create Styles instead (one can save a variety of Styles and add them as needed).
