Split Clip at in/out of selection

Is it possible to split a clip at the start and end of a selection? I know you can ripple delete from a selection, which I Love, but I want to split the clip at the start of the blue and the end of the blue.

Also, is it possible to make some sort of compound action that would:

1. split the clip at each

1. Increase speed of the new clip

1. remove newly created empty space to the right of the clip?

Use the Split command to split a clip at the Scrubber

Or use the bottom of the Scrubber

CraigS Okay here is the video - I want to be able to split the clip at the start _and_ end of the selection.

I also want to know if it's possible to do ripple delete the left-over space  automatically once I've sped up a clip:

Wes Bos You'd probably want to make a request for Macro functions using your video as an example.I can't recall seeing any NLE with that specific combination of splitting clips and speeding up the middle with a pull up.

Okay - is it possible to make my own macros?

What about splitting clips at both spots?

Wes Bos Split clip only works at the scrubber. You can delete entirely between in and out points. You might be able to make Macros with third party macro utilities but some functions like speed change may not work.
