Audio feedback during Skype

We do a lot of Skype interviews, and I haven't been able to figure out a way for the in-studio host to hear the interviewee without also hearing the delayed feedback of his own voice.  He doesn't do well at all when he hears this delayed feedback of himself.

How should I set up the audio settings so that the host hears the skype guest, but not himself from the output of the Macbook?

I assume it's just a standard monitor setting, but I am new to the software, and I'm not currently comfortable outputting the studio audio without being able to confirm it's there.

  • The nature of the processing will always result in a slight delay when monitoring one's own voice. That's one reason why Wirecast 7.1 has mix minus. You can remove your own voice from the monitoring while still sending it out live to the stream and record.

Disable Monitor to remove source from monitoring but keep it live for the stream and record.
