Twitter Feed (Auto available or just Manual)

When incorporating a Twitter feed, one can 'Select All' as well as 'Refresh Every 90 Seconds'. However, when used together they don't seem to automatically re-Select All, and that one needs to manually choose the new Tweets to go into the stream & on air.

Is this correct?  Is there a way to just have it set to Auto & as an un-manned station have Tweets automatically get chosen & inserted?

(I can understand the fear of this with trolling, inappropriate tweets etc one should manually review, but asking mostly for a small, 1 person operation). If not, any thoughts on making it a feature request, or do you think it'll go nowhere?

  • Wirecast requires you to select the Tweets to display just in case you need to exclude any Tweets. Some would see value with Automatic display though.

    Certainly, make the Feature Request.

      Spencer Austad What's the issue?
The original post was about a feature request of Auto vs Manual display and I'm not sure how your post exhibits either.

    • CraigS Sorry Craig, I must have posted to the wrong thread. My issue is the cut-off tweets which I can't seem to find much information on?

Spencer Austad See if you can make the bottom text box bigger. How does the original tweet look? How does it look in Wirecast > Social > Twitter > Message Feed?

    • CraigS Thanks for reply Craig. Seems like making the textbox bigger only makes the text bigger? See below how the tweet looks on twitter vs how it shows up in wirecast (settings included in the screenshot) What am I missing? As you can see it cuts off the bottom of the tweet too. I'm using Wirecast Version 14.3.1 (64.46fe86f5) on a mac.

Spencer Austad Thanks for checking. Looks like Wirecast can't display the full number of characters. Investigating WIRE-19416

    • CraigS Copy that, thanks Craig. Is there a fix for this? Have a gig coming up that requires tweets (in full) displayed on screen.

Perhaps adjustment hear might help such as changing the text box height or using a smaller font.

I can't speak to the specific time frame yet but I will monitor the progress. There should be significant Wirecast social media improvements but I can't say when as of yet.

    • CraigS Thanks Craig- If I copy/paste straight from twitter to the message box and delete paragraph spaces, I can reduce font size and fit it all. It doesn't solve the problem of the built in tweet social feed as it doesn't display the tweet in full there. Looking forward to the fix.
