Nvidia Nvenc Encoder Problems

I use RTMP to stream.  I have always used the Nvidia Nvenc GTX 960M which is the graphics card in my Asus GL752VW-DH74 to stream using the Nvidia encoder preset in the RTMP settings. My problem is that after the April Windows 10 update i cannot use the setting of any Nvidia preset or the Intel presets as the only video streaming out is a green screen.  I have a 1tb ssd Hard Drive with 16GB Ram.  Ive never had this problem before but it is a huge problem now as the only encoder i can currently use is the h.264 preset which is CPU intensive.  I cannot even use the Intel Presets as i get the message that the Hardware Accelerated Compressor did not initialize when trying to use the Intel preset.  Help?  CraigS

  • Update to Wirecast 9 if you haven't yet. Also test using a new document rather than one created in an earlier version. Reboot the computer after installing Wirecast 9. Try creating a new encoder preset as well.

  • CraigS I have done all those things as well as uninstall completely and reinstalled Wirecast. No luck. Same thing

  • Kenwood Reset Wirecast Preferences. Wirecast > Help > Send Support Information but click on the lower left Reset Preferences.

If that doesn't work you may want uninstall the GPU drivers, Reboot, Reinstall the GPU drivers Reboot again.

  • CraigS I’ve done all of these things at least 6 times and I still have a green screen when using the NVIDIA Nvenc encoder. I cannot use the intel encoder at all due to a message about hardware acceleration and now this morning I can even RTMP to my liveU solo as all I get is a black screen. I’ve tried everything.

  • Kenwood Perhaps there's an issue with the OS update itself. You may want to boot into Windows repair mode.

  • CraigS I’ve done that 3 times. I have even restored my computer to a different restore point and nothing. Still green and only the h.264 encoders work.

  • Kenwood While I don't have a computer with NVENC, I'm current with my Windows 10 updates and have no problem with Intel QuickSync encoder options in Wirecast 9.0.1.

Perhaps check Wirecast > Preferences > Advanced > Video Adapter
but since it correlates with a Windows update it would seem to be a Windows OS setting.

  • Kenwood Which is why I think it's a Windows OS setting.

    See this

Then Select Startup Repair (not Restore).

  • Kenwood Just to confirm Wirecast is/isn't the issue you can try rolling back to Wirecast 8.3 see Previous Versions at the top. Given we're not getting reports from other users I can't help but believe it's related to your specific computer and something that happened around the time of that update. Since "I" processors have integrated GPUs as well, Try entirely removing the NVIDIA drivers and all related NVIDIA software and reboot the computer and see if Intel QuickSync works.

  • Grab the latest NVidia drivers. I had the same issue after a Windows Update and actually had to uninstall my graphics adapter and reboot before Wirecast allowed me to use the NVidia encoder.

but the nvidia codec stream a green screen,

Are you choosing NVENC encoding preset?
What you do see if you chose x264 or Quick Sync encoder?
