All my media is offline when I use another computer

Someone I work with created a Wirecast project at the office. He saved it to Dropbox and we needed to open it on a different machine in the same office.

When we opened it, everything was offline. It appears that the files need absolute paths instead of relative. Is this the case?

is there a way to make it smoother so my coworker doesn’t have to manually connect 200+ files again?

  • Ideally, we should have an easy relink function possibly using relative paths or, otherwise, a way to create a document package.

Please fill out the form and make the feature request explaining your workflow situation as you did above.

    Wirecast Feature Request Form

  • CraigS will do.  I'm surprised I didn't find much info or discussion around this.  If someone's machine crashed and they reinstalled the OS, and the Wirecast project was in a different folder or their username was different than the original computer, everything would also have to be reconnected manually.   I assumed I'd have found others with this problem.

Putting in a feature request now.

  • Russell Anderson People do mention that re-linking assets, when needed, can certainly be a chore. Given the way most people use Wirecast usually, the machine and assets are dedicated. It does come up but not frequently though.
