Macbook Pro 2016 and 3 live cams

I was hoping that I could run 3 live cameras via BM Mini recorders into Wirecast 7 with the new laptop, but I could only get two cameras to show. So, I connected a 3rd cam to a Belkin Hub and connected to the mac with the thunderbolt 3 adapter and bingo... the 3rd cam is live. I'm disappointed that the new laptop can't run the 3rd cam on its own. Has anyone had success. This would make a sweet , neat 3 camera setup.

  • Get you one of these. https://eshop.macsales.com/shop/Thunderbolt/Dock/OWC/Thunderbolt2-Dock/ I use 4 webcams everyday. The USB "bus" on the MacBooks just can't handle the bandwidth required.

  • If you're using one of the new four Thunderbolt 3 port 15" MBP,  a couple of other are reporting the same thing (only 2 show up). Neither Apple or Blackmagic have clarified the cause though. You may want to contact Blackmagic about this as well as Apple.

  • CraigS  Thanks, Craig. I have a Sonnet Echo Express SE Thunderbolt 2 Box and my Thunderbolt 3 upgrade card will be here Monday. Will test with a Decklink Quad and 3 SDI Cameras and give some feed back.
