Preview Mode missing from Screenflow 7
i just updated from screenflow 6 to screenflow 7 and realized the Preview function is no longer present. I liked this feature and wonder if in a future update we could have it returned. Or is it present but hidden somewhere?
Given some of the changes, there may be better options to get better playback.
You can now hide the Timeline and the Inspector so you can preview the canvas on its own without the clutter.
You can assign keyboard shortcuts to them. Give that a try. Playback of certain timelines may handle better than using the old Preview method.
Test and let me know what you think.
The same thing just happened to me. I think the answer that CraigS gave is not at all professional. I am UX designer, according to what he proposes a user must execute 4 steps to get to the expected result. And then 3 steps in reverse. Finally, multiply those same actions by the amount of times the user needs to repeat it. Come on!
1 - Hide Inspector
2 - Hide Timeline
3 - Maximize window
4 - Play
In the previous version you could preview from a simple menu click (View/Preview Full Screen).
I think that as serious developers, they should return that function instead of giving complex alternatives because they simply did not include it (what's the deal, did they forget?).Reply
CraigS LP There you go. The problem is that DEVELOPERS are NOT ux designers, neither ux architects.
In my opinion, if it was giving problems, it should have been tried to solve it before the release of version 7, since it is a widely used function and is an important part of the very meaning of the software. I'm more that convinced that a few user testing sessions would had have revealed it.
I have read on Twitter that Telestream recommended a user to add it as a custom keyboard shortcut. The issue is that you can not, because the function no longer exists! I hope it be reconsidered and bring it back soon.
In the meantime, I've requested a refund until this feature is included again.
