Screen Resize Issue with External Monitor

I'm getting a weird situation with ScreenFlow 7 on Sierra (10.12.6) where my video workspace is getting moved and shrunk when I open it in an external monitor.

When I move it back to the primary display and enable/disable checkerboard, the screen redraws to fill the space.

Is this a bug? Or am I missing a setting somewhere?

  • Could the canvas workspace be panned?  On the external monitor, try holding space bar as you  click and drag to reposition the canvas.

Can you include your system specs including GPU and monitor sizes?
Are you capturing full screen or partial screen capture?
It may be a combination of monitor and GPU interaction but I really need more details to evaluation.

  • Chris Mattia I am away from the monitors at this point, but I'll check this again tomorrow and report back!

Josh Cheshire Thanks. Those details will be important.

  • CraigS My system setup:

Machine: MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Early 2013)
Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 4000 1536 MB
External monitors: Dell E2414H (running at 1920x1080), Dell U2412M (running at 1920x1200)

In this case, the document was a video of a full screen capture taken on the Mac's primary LCD display. The capture was made in ScreenFlow v6 and I had opened it to show a colleague how to use ScreenFlow. It was the first time I had opened a .screenflow document in v7, and I simply slide it from the main LCD to the E2414H. I used my trackpad to zoom the video canvas when the whole thing redrew into the bottom left corner like that. Moving it to the LCD and making any adjustments on the video canvas (enabling/disabling checkerboard, zooming the video, etc.) causes it to fill back out normally.

Let me know if you need any other details!

Josh Cheshire Thanks. That's the kind of information we need.
Fill out the form and include those details. You may want to link to this forum thread so the technician can read more details.

    ScreenFlow Support Form

Is it possible you can recreate the issue using a document created in ScreenFlow 7?
This might help us determine if it's specific to opening document created in 6 in ScreenFlow 7 on a different monitor.
