Audio in Multiple jpgs shots then Video with own audio

I am trying to add an audio source to play through  say 5 shots.  Then the next shot is a video with its own audio.  Then back to multiple jpgs in a few more shots returning to the first audio source. Any help please?

You can add an audio shot to another Main Layer and have that play through while playing through multiple shots on another Main Layer.

  • Thanks that makes the line of jpg shots pretty clear for me.   So adding a video with its own audio is where I was going.  So how to stop the shot audio, start the video audio and restart the jpg shot audio?  I really appreciate the help with the learning curve.

The Mooseman If you want to add video with its own audio you can add the audio to the video shot. If you want the audio to be separate and continuous while changing video shots it should be its own shot on a separate Master Layer.  When Shots are on separate Master Layers the can be cut on and off at the same time or separately. You just chose which you want to transition.

  • Hi Craig... I have it set up and working fine with the multiple shots in the first row and having the music source in the second row and it loops through that fine too.

I added  a video with  audio to the third line.   But I can't get the video to play after the end of the first row playlist... much less return to that play list with the video is done.

Do I have manually cause the video to play or can it be automated into the situation.

I appreciate you helping.  If you do paid tutoring by zoom let me know!!

The Mooseman Check the video clip's setting as well. Make sure it's not on Hold.

    • CraigS Its on loop as well.  So I moved the video into the first playlist and got a total time of 2:30 for it.   Then I set the music source for 2:30 and loop as well in the second row.  And now the firs playlist works and plays the video with sound.  But the music source keeps playing even with 2:30 duration and loop setting.

The Mooseman Sorry but at this point I'm not sure what you're doing. You'll have to provide a screen recording of what you're doing. We have no reports of issues with Playlists and how they progress so you may have a workflow issue.

Simply, when a Playlist ends it executes one of the commands I showed. If your music is on a separate layer that is handled separately. It is not part of the Playlist and you must transition that layer unless you have it set to loop. Main Layers can be transitioned together but their end play commands are completely independent.

If you have premium support you can send in the support form and ask for remote access. If it's tutoring rather than a technical problem there's an additional charge for that.

The Mooseman Use the support portal and list the area of focus you'd like.

The Mooseman OBS has no support staff at all. It''s completely reliant on the community. The portal will get you a staff response and schedule training if needed.

    • CraigS OBS actually works intuitively for me.  Wirecast not so much. THe freebie StreamLabs is my second choice and they support way better than Telestream. I paid Telestream  $300 bucks for Premium support and they send me to links like you did... so I am done with them.

Training is separate from support. You have to ask to schedule paid one on one training.

    • CraigS SO I pay them $300 bucks to point out bugs that need fixing or a feature that is broken.

and then pay for operation support is extra.....Bad business model these guys have.

The Mooseman It's not there is a bug (other customers aren't reporting this) and you seem to ask for training.

You'd have to provide verification this is a bug (screen recording of the behavior). I'm sorry but it seems your description is not clear as it's not using the program's terminology. We need to reproduce the steps or setup to determine if there's a bug vs a user misunderstanding.

I can conform in my own tests playlist advance to the next shot as it lists Loop, Hold, Previous Live Shot, Current Preview. You mention audio but as described that would be a separate Main Layer shot and be independent.
