Batch export all recordings from within one project at recorded resolution.

I record my webcam at HD resolution, my 27" monitor at 2560x1440, my 32" monitor at UHD, and my laptop screen at its native resolution. I need more powerful editing tools so I need to render out each of these captures at their screen resolutions, but there is no solution for this. So I'm stuck with rendering out all those passes manually. It would be great if there was a batch exporter for individual projects to just render each layer into a separate quicktime movie. (I cannot be the first person asking for this, so pardon my repetition if so.)

it regularly gets through a few exports and then just quick-exit crashes.

I hope you've reported that, and have a case number. That's the only way developers can become aware of an issue and work to fix it. Otherwise, you should post all the details in another thread.

We just want our Screenflow clips at their native resolutions to edit elsewhere. The screenflow editor will never approach the abilities of either FCP or DaVinci Resolve, nor should it.

This is one reason ScreenFlow supports Apple ProRes 422 and 4444 with Alpha support. ScreenFlow, on the other hand, has features no other editor can match because of how it handles the metadata from recordings to allow changes in the mouse pointer, keystroke display, and certain callouts. Those are best done in ScreenFlow before exporting.

There's a case to be made for those who need to simply report elements synchronously as ScreenFlow does but export those at their native resolution separately.

Funny you should mention that. Your suggestion implies that one would have to transcode the incoming footage from all the various cameras and their various resolutions into ProRes. Well, doing that in DaVinci Resolve is a button click.  "Render at source resolution."

This is exactly what I want from ScreenFlow. Take all my disparate resolution video clips from all my various monitors and iOs devices and render them at their source resolution, all with just a button click, all in one go.

The attached image is from a timeline with numerous resolutions from one TV show I'm working on right now. Some of the clips on the timeline are 4K, some are UHD, some are 1080p, and a couple are some weird resolution I've never really seen before. I can just take all these files (in this case EXR image sequences) and transcode them into proxies for my team at their original resolutions. I do this nearly daily.

Matthew Merkovich thanks for pointing to that. Developers do find export at source resolution an interesting idea and will continue to investigate.

I also would like a solution to this, as I would like to edit in Final Cut Pro and have my webcam and screen record as separate files.

Sam Smyers The developers are considering this.

    • CraigS I would love this feature, to clarify it's like "extract each recorded track into separate files". So if I record my screen and two other webcams, I should be able to get 3 files:

      screen.mov, cam1.mov and cam2.mov

Later I can import those into FCP X or others.

Camtasia have this feature, but they only allow you to record one camera and the cursor does not show up in the screen recording.

    Yea I Agree Completely!
This feels like an obvious feature.

I use Screenflow to record multiple cameras and screens. I don't want to do any editing in Screenflow. I want to edit those files in Final Cut Pro. I wish I could just drag them over to FCP!
