Screen Recording Panel is not responsive when editing video

When editing the recording, I select/highlight the video layer and go to Screen Recording Panel.  It allows me to customise properties like Pointer Zoom, Click Effect, Size, Color, Duration, and Blur, but the changes are not reflect on the video.  When editing on Video Panel, the changes are reflected on the video.

  • Your video only shows Screen Recording Panel so I can't comment on the rest.

    There are a number of situations where that is normal behavior. There are certain setups where you do not have control of the pointer as it's burned in.

    For a more detailed answer I'd need complete system specs including the monitor configuration and how connected the exact version of Big Sur and browser you seem to be recording.

      CraigS The issue happening with Screen Recording Panel only, the rest works well.  It is Big Sur 11.6 and the browser is Chrome.  Let me know if you need any other info.

      Kat Kim It's whatever external monitors you have hooked up if any and how they are attached.

    I have control over the Mouse Pointer Zoom
    I can't reproduce your issue.
    Please provide additional information about external monitors and how attached.

      CraigS  I see.  It's DELL U2720QM connected via usb c-hdml cable.  I also screen record by "selected region".

      Kat Kim Try removing the monitor, rebooting, do a full-screen recording of the built-in monitor with no other programs running. Make sure you move the cursor a bit. See if you and zoom the cursor in the Screen Recording panel when you're done recording.
