Shared settings between licenses or more 'seats'

At PE we use ScreenFlow as our main editor. It is THE BEST.

One thing that we run into is the settings. Ivy uses it, I use it - and I use it on a few different computers. I have a personal license and a PE company license - and we'd buy "seats" if that were an option. As it stands, - every computer/install has different settings and also has different custom "style presets."

As a simple example: we have a "go-full-screen-m1" preset to do that. Or "become-circle" or "bottom-right" and so on. Each computer has totally different presets because we create them on the fly - when we're away from the other computer.

It would be really nice if somehow - things could be synced up. And creating a sync is pretty serious... so, we'd be happy with an export of settings that we could import to another installation.

Speaking of that / RE: ScreenFlow 10 (great job!) -  moving from 9 to 10 - None of our style presets or settings carried over.

It's not the end of the world! But it IS a feature request of ours

Would it be that they can be exported and sent?
Are you thinking of a cloud service? I ask since syncing is different that just sharing settings non-live.

That's being looked at as well.

CraigS  A cloud service is what I meant by "sync." Basically, an object that extends the default settings that's saved wherever you check the license would be one way. I don't expect that to be a small task.

    • CraigS We have 2 Macbooks and an iMac / where we record on the macbook (because that's what we're recording) - and we do some editing there - and then move to the iMac so we have more room and power - and a second person can edit. But then all of the settings aren't the same. Even if we just had a static JSON file that we manually put on each computer that would be helpful.

Perpetual Education Thank you for the suggestion but please vote for this. Consider that there's been only 1 vote for this in 4 months. The developers may prioritized based on that as they are not going through the individual posts.

    • Rory Maloney  In this case / more seats doesn't help the syncing of the settings though, right? That's what we're looking for.

  • Agreed, we have been using ScreenFlow since v2, and the ability to export and import Action Templates was a boon for us as we have around 10 licenses on our team alone and always needed to share settings easily.  Then Styles replaced Action Templates, and those could not be saved, exported, or imported.  So we always have to build our styles from scratch for every new license that we add AND every time we upgrade to a new full integer version.

We're still investigating these. We understand the need.
