video cutting

Is there a way to cut videos super fast using ScreenFlow WITHOUT a compression?

  • In order to put several clips tother as one they must be recompressed on export.

There are programs that can join files but, IMHO, they are generally problematic given the differences in metadata and codecs between clips. Some players may play those files and others will have problems.

CraigS As for now, I do not need to work with multiple files. I just want to download video (.mp4) and cut the needed episode instead of making screencast due to enormously big screencast size compared to the original video (even after compressing with Apple Compressor and despite of capturing just part-screen)). Is it possible with Screenflow or is there any software in the world to do that fast and simple and without conversion?

That's a specific use case. Such a feature wouldn't be limited to such. Quicktime can record the screen as H.264 MP4.

CraigS I am not asking for screen recording at all. I am interesting in using Screen flow as video editor in terms of cutting the beginning and the end of the video without additional compression. Nothing be more primitive than that. I do not know how to explain myself more clearly.

John Doe There may be some "off brand" programs that join clips but I'm currently not aware of any that I'd recommend.
