Shortcut for Clear Layer?

Hello,

I am trying to create a shortcut for the clear layer buttons but am not having any luck.  I created a shortcut on the letter "c" which is registered and shown in the program when right-clicking but it is not working.  I realize the Clear Layer button is kind of tricky since there are multiple instances of the button on different layers.  Is it even possible to make a shortcut for this button?

Thanks.

    Wirecast 15.0.3.
c set to Clear Layer and Global
    Works for me.

Please note that you can see the c is assigned by looking at the left side of the Clear Layer.
I don't see that assignment in your screenshot.
You have to assign the shortcut to the shots.

  • Thanks for your reply Craig.  I do not see the left indicator on your example.  Can you point it out to me?  I looked around my setup and the shot (media file) shows "c" as a shortcut.  So both clear layer and the clip are set to "c" as a shortcut.  Not sure what I am missing.

The shortcut is in the list of available shortcuts but you haven't actually assigned it to the shot. Once assigned to the shot you get the shortcut visible on the left side of the Clear Layer. You have to select the shortcut for each shot and assign it. Each Clear Layer can have the same single shortcut as I have done in my example.

  •  Thanks Craig.  I hate to be the new user that just can't get things working but I have the shortcut assigned when I right-click the shot but the key is not executing the command.  I must be missing something else here?

Is there a special way to assign a shortcut to a shot outside of right-clicking and managing the shortcuts?

    Thanks

Tim Polster The shortcut is not assigned to the shot. Creating the shortcut does not assign it. You must select each shot and select the shortcut from the pulldown menu to assign it.

  • Thanks.  I see now.  You must select the shortcut from the right-click menu every time you start the program or make a template.  Otherwise the shortcut is not "active".

Tim Polster That's the right idea. They should stay with the document if saved.
