screen recording resolution

Is there a setting for this? When I record my Dell monitor, or a window of it, the resolution of the recording is noticeably lower than the monitor display itself. I've been unable to find any info in the tutorials etc.

    The screen recording always matches the resolution of the monitor. There is a Preferences > Advanced > Screen Recording Compression setting which can have an impact but that's only when you must do Lossless work. 

    Keep in mind the ScreenFlow canvas has to interpolate the file to present it. It only shows a matching resolution when set to 100%.
