Jumpy Video on dedicated media iMac when Desktop Presenter enabled with ProPresenter 6

Running ProPresenter 6 on dedicated iMac (2019) with 8gb RAM, 3GHz 6-core i5.  Radeon Pro 560x 4gb, with a solid state HD.  We use DP 2.0.8 to display lower third worship lyrics to our streaming computer.

Whenever I enable Desktop Presenter on the iMac, the video playback in ProPresenter on the Mac (and it's outputs) gets jumpy.  So jumpy sometimes that the audio will also slow, or cut in and out.  When I quit Desktop Presenter, the video instantly plays smoothly.  I don't believe it's a power/processing issue... Any ideas?

  • Remote Desktop Presenter hasn't been updated for some years. Better technology would be to use the free Newtek NDI Tools NDI Scan Converter.

  • Hi, we're running into a similar issue while using NDI from Propresenter to Wirecast. We're running the latest versions of Propresenter (7.6.1) and Wirecast (14.3.0).

    Propresenter machine:

    Intel Xeon CPU E5-2630 v2 @2.60GHz (2) processors - 32GB - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660

    Wirecast machine:

    Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-10900X CPU @ 3.70GHz   3.70 GHz - 64GB - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 

    The video seems stable enough, but the audio cuts for a split second every 10-15 seconds. Any thoughts would be really helpful!

      Chris Choules Please update to Wirecast 14.3.1
      Also, check NDI in Newtek NDI Video Monitor on the Wirecast machine and see if the issue is present there as well. If so it may be a network issue.

      If it's good in Video Monitor then in a New Wirecast 14.3.1 Document with only the ProPresenter NDI shot please do a Wirecast Output Record to Disk recording showing the issue.
      Also, do a Wirecast ISO recording of the Shot with audio as well. That will show us what's happening on input.
