Multiple Monitor Setup - Records only one monitor

• M1 Max MBP - used in a Clamshell mode - that is with its lid closed.
• Monterey 12.3.1
• ScreenFlow version (10.0.5), Telestream version
• 2 external monitors - 5K and 4K - both 27"

I have attached 2 monitors to my MBP. The MBP is in clamshell mode - (with its lid closed, its Built-in Display not being used).

When I click on the monitor listed in the above dialog, only the 1st monitor (LG Ultrafine is my Main Display) is highlighted in Red Color - indicating that it is the only monitor that is being recorded. The other monitor (LG HDR 4K - is my Extended Display) is not highlighted when I select it from the 2nd drop-down & nor is it recorded.

Please help - how do I record both monitors? Right now, only one is getting recorded.

How are monitors attached to the computer?

Ravi Kiran What are the connection types on the monitor itself?
Are they connected directly or through dock/hub?

Since M1 Max comes with 3 Thunderbolt 4 ports, so I have attached a Thunderbolt cable to one port and a USB-C cable to the other port.

On the 5K monitor, it shows a Thunderbolt symbol and the cable also shows the Thunderbolt symbol at both ends. On the 4K, it is a normal USB-C port, so using that to connect it to the MBP.

Both cables are directly connected to the monitors.

Ravi Kiran Thanks for those details.
Let's try an experiment. With only the 5K monitor connected (disconnect the 4K) reboot the computer and see if you can capture the monitor.
Then, with only the 4K monitor connected (disconnect the 5K) reboot the computer and see if you can capture the monitor.
This will let us know if there's an issue with a single external monitor connection type or the issue involves using two external monitors in clamshell mode.

Sure, let me try this experiment too.

Just showing how the monitors are connected right now.

With only the 5K monitor connected & rebooting the computer, I'm able to capture the monitor.
Then, with only the 4K monitor connected & rebooting the computer, I'm able to capture the monitor.

But curiously enough now, when I connect both monitors again (after reboot), I'm able to see both of them on the ScreenFlow stage - see snapshot below.

As stated above, previously I was seeing only the 1st monitor in the ScreenFlow window.

Does that mean that whenever I connect both monitors, I will have to first do a Reboot? That would be troublesome.

Thanks Craig for sticking with me on this.

That's possible. If it fails again see if rebooting fixes it. That would confirm it. Since ScreenFlow gets its info from macOS perhaps there's a macOS issue or something about how ScreenFlow is interpreting the connection.
