Constant crashes anyone?

Hi, anyone else experiencing constant crashes at close down and start up? Happens almost every time. Just seeing if it's a wider issue before looking in to solutions, thank you.

  • No reports of that with the current version of Wirecast 14.3.2 as of yet.
If you want tech support with that you'd have to provide more details.
If it constantly crashes on startup how would you ever get to close down?

    • CraigS Hi, thanks for that. It's a bit difficult because the triggers are so general - start up and shut down. I've found the most reliable way to get it started up is to click directly on the .wcst file in Finder, but clicking on the dock icon or using 'open recent' seems to cause crashes more often than not. Sometimes when I'm re-opening after a normal, successful, close down it tells me something like, 'Wirecast shutdown last time because of a fault, would you like to recover the file?' even though it didn't indicate a problem on shut down. Maybe a re-install or re-creating the .wcst file I use from scratch will help.

Graeme Parker It is possible there's an issue with the wcst especially if it was created in a previous version.

If you get a crash though please attach the log here. Go to Wirecast Help > Send Support Information and then use the Save Report button and attach it here to a forum post.

Describing exactly what you were doing and if the document was created with a previous version and if there were any imported media (and what types).

    • CraigS  Hi again, I was going to rebuild the file, which I suspect would have worked, but saw there was a new version - upgrade did the trick :-) Thank you for your input.
