Mouse pointer still visible after unchecking "Show Mouse Pointer"
I just upgraded to the new ScreenFlow 9.0.6, and have this issue: I record my screen, and directly after recording I select the video clip. Then in the Screen Recording section I uncheck "Show Mouse Pointer". The problem is, the mouse pointer still shows. Have I encountered a bug or is there something I forgot to do?
Some specs:
- Computer: MacBook Air (M1, 2020)
- MacOS: 11.0
- Screenflow version: 9.0.6
- Free hard drive space: 260 GB

Please update your macOS to 11.1 first and test again.

Works as expected. Dissapears from menu selection when disabled.

Hello,
I am facing the same issue. Mac OSX 11.1 and SF 9.0.5. The mouse is still there even though I uncheck it.
I ran the Check for Updates, but SF tells me 9.0.5 is the latest version.
Any suggestion?

I downloaded SF 9.0.6 and also I have OSx 11.1 and still the cursor pointer always showing even though I uncheck it.

Bilal Haidar I'd like to help but you have to provide more details. As you can see the original poster's issue was resolved. Have you checked to make sure ScreenFlow has all the permissions it needs in System Preferences > Security & Privacy? Please list each item that it has Permissions to use.

CraigS Thank you for replying. unfortunately it won't work on my computer. The checkbox is unchecked and still the cursor pointer shows up.

CraigS Unfortunately, all permissions are given and yet the mouse cursor is stuck there and refuses to get hidden :-)

Does the Pointer Zoom under Show Mouse Pointer work? -
CraigS I do have multiple screens, but I only record on the Macbook screen. The Pointer Zoom has no effect seems.
A few weeks ago, I was able to hide/show/zoom the pointer. Recently, after I upgraded my Mac to 11.1 I noticed this thing.

I also now have this problem with the later parts of my most recent recording (not the earliest clips) with ScreenFlow 9.0.7 and MacOS 11.2.2. I have never turned on the "Mirror" function, my second monitor is an extended screen. But, as I have a 2019 MacBook Pro 16", I do now have the problem that when the system boots up, my external monitor may randomly have reduced resolution options, so who knows what else that effects. I suspect MacOS 11.2.2... Apple has a habit of suddenly restricting something that non-Apple apps rely on.

I just did a test with a new recording, and the pointer can be turned on and off with no problem. I'm at a loss...

And I've just noticed, while continuing to edit my current video, that when the cursor is visible, ignoring the turned-off "Show Mouse Pointer", the Click-effect is not being applied.

JOHN HOWARD It may very well be dependent on what program is being recording or focused and which monitor is being used. We'd need that specificity to see what's happening. One example might be the use of a SideCar monitor (iPad for example).

CraigS Apparently Apple has finally admitted that they have a problem with 2019 MacBook Pro 16" external monitor support with the current OS, so I'll wait until this is resolved, to at least get rid of one variable.

I have the same problem as the OP.
My specs: Mac Mini M1 running Big Sur 11.2.3 and Screenflow version 9.0.7 and over 900GB free storage.
I've tried the solutions mentioned above to no avail.
Has anyone heard anything new on this issue or have any other proposed solutions that weren't mentioned above? CraigS ?

MelanieP It may depend on the monitor, a dock/hub if that's involved and the program you're trying to capture. I can't comment without that information though. You have to include technical and verifiable steps in order for us to troubleshoot. Using iOS device as a second screen as with Sidecar will be an issue. It's related to what the OS is doing. This may be improved in an upcoming version.

CraigS Thanks. No dock/hub is involved. No iOS devices are part of the equation. Sidecar isn't enabled. I was just trying to record my screen going between random windows e.g. browser, finder, etc as a test. So could you expand more on the monitor aspect and what to key in on as that seems like a viable/logical place for me to troubleshoot? Thanks!
