Generally they should be compatible Can you explain how you are trying to import them? There are a number of ways. Without details it's possible the files are corrupt or perhaps something is non standard about them. Perhaps you can link to one so I can test on my system.

  • with screenflow 6 i haven't any problems to import images.

Screenflow 7 is very very bugs.

I think the v7 is not a finish version.

    I m so disappointed with the v7.

    And i think i m not alone!

Didier Navarrete Thank for the screenshot but I need an actual file to test. Apple's own file compatibility has changed over time since they've deprecated Quicktime and moved to AVFoundation. I have no problem importing my PNGs and JPGs so I can't say this is a bug, a compatibility issue or some other system specific issue. Please provide a file you are having a problem with so we can examine.

Didier Navarrete Your PNG works perfectly on my system. ScreenFlow 7, macOS 10.12.6 so the issue would seem to be related to your config. I tested this on MacPro 2013.

Tested on a second system ScreenFlow 7, macOS 10.11.6 and it works there as well.
So I do think there's an issue on your end since it works on multiple systems and OSs here. I tested this on 15" MacBookPro 2013.

I suggest you make a New User Admin account and log in to that account and with no other programs running, capture the desktop and then import the PNG and see if it works. That will determine whether the issue is in a user account or system wide.

  • I have tried with other admin account, don't work and with Screenflow 6 all works then the problem in my config come with screenflow 7.

Didier Navarrete It could be something in the system is impacting ScreenFlow 7 only.

    Try the following:

    Delete ScreenFlow Cache:
    1) Make sure ScreenFlow is not open. (save any work in progress)
    2) Open a new Finder window.
    3) Select the "GO" menu top of screen, Hold "Option" key with menu open, and select the "Library" that appears.
    4) In the Library folder open Caches folder.
    5) Delete ALL folders that start with “net.telestream.screenflow ( 7 if version number is visible. Delete other Screenflow caches as well just in case)”
    6) Empty trash.

    Part 2:

    Reset ScreenFlow Preferences:
    1) Make sure ScreenFlow is not open.
    2) Open Terminal and copy and paste this command and press Enter:To open "Terminal" (Finder > Applications > Utilities > Terminal).
    defaults delete net.telestream.screenflow7

Then create a New Document (or record to create a New Document) and test in that document.

  • Likewise for me. ScreenFlow 7 will not accept a still image in any file format that I have saved (PSD, JPG, TIFF, PNG). I followed the above instructions, but still no love.

On the other hand, ScreenFlow 6 accepted the image with no problem. So, there does seem to be a problem with ScreenFlow 7.

Good thing I still have ScreenFlow 6 on my system.

  • Same problem. Upgraded to 7.1. Cannot load media. Tried on both Sierra and highSierra. Same error. Solution: Used Screenflow 6.2.2 to flawlessly load all media. Six videos forty slides. Then switched to 7.1 for editing. Worked just fine. But I wasted a lot of time trying to figure this out.

  • Seems like something is making 7.1 inconsistent, then. Because, as I reported before, the image import function works flawlessly with my High Sierra (I just tested it again...). It definitely didn't work with Sierra.

  • I am having exactly the same issue. I JUST upgraded right before trying to work on my project. All of a sudden JPEG and PNG images can no longer be recognized. Get an error: Unrecognized file format. Extremely frustrating. I've tried to drag it into the timeline directly, drag it to the library and use the menu to import it. No love. I'm going to need to downgrade to be able to work on my project again. I'm on Sierra 10.12.4.

  • Julia, my recommendation is to either go back to Screen Flow six (hopefully, you didn't delete it), or upgrade to High Sierra.
