Allow setting of (maximum) stream resolution

Before laying down my feature request, first let me explain my current setup..

I'm using an iPhone 6 Plus to stream using Wirecast Go (with the in-app purchase upgrade) to broadcast to YouTube throug the advanced setting.

As far as resolution is concerned, result is the same as the simple free streaming option.

The iPhone 6 Plus allows for 1080p30 recording, however it is only streaming at 720p - On YT the resolution is maxed at 720p, or optionally a lower setting for the viewer.

My LTE internet connection tests a realistic upstream of 40Mbit, allowing plenty of room comparing to the average of 8Mbit the current 720p stream takes now.

My feature request is to allow a manual selection of the highest bitrate to stream in and - in case Wirecast Go is simply limited to 720p itself - to support streaming in higher resolutions, like 1080p, 2160p, ...

  • Since both iPhones and many LTE bandwidth situation can handle higher frame size data rate combinations that would be a good feature request.

LP will document that for you.

  • CraigS and LP Thank you.

By the way, to your knowledge, is an update to Wirecast Go to be expected within this quarter? The current version is already over 1.5 years old, with the release date being February 1, 2016. Not that there are any bugs right now, thankfully, but one would expect new features to be rolled out gradually. Just wondering..
