Problems getting guest onboard
Hi,
I have Windows 10, Wirecast 10 Pro, newest version updated and at the moment one guest can join the Rendervous, but then the others can be seen and heard by the first guest but not by me, the host. I see a black screen and no voice except for the first one. The others get the info that not able to receive video.
What should I do?

I. Have seen this many times. Make sure they use Chrome as a browser and that your guests have sufficient bandwidth. If the connection does not work disconnect and create a new rendezvous session. In general rendezvous works well when it works but be sure to test it every time before you go live with your guests. As a backup go via Skype if rendezvous fails.

Anne-Maarit Sepling Sorry you're experiencing this but Rendezvous has some very important requirements and practices. Please read the following document carefully.

These all have been tested and checked. I do wonder how Telestream can market this as a feature, if it is uncertain and unreliable as it is. We had to take up Zoom. I wonder what am I paying for, if some of the most important features do not work..I hear you... I have been battling the Rendezvous demon for a while. The black screen thing for me has been random, with no particular trigger known. Because of this instability, I get my guests to join 15 mins before broadcast at the latest to allow for unexpected situations.
What is really difficult is that on some occasions, the guest disconnects on their end - but it remains in wirecast. Even worse, the disconnect from the wirecast end does nothing. The only answer is to wait for it to time out.
Are you on OSX or Windows? Just curious.

Anne-Maarit Sepling You are absolutely right. I really like Wirecast but they make things difficult at times. Rendez-vous works well (when it does) but connecting is sometimes painful for guests- I run rendez-vous every week on my live shows. And yes, there are solutions out there that are more robust as you mentioned, although the audio and video quality is not as good when Rendez-vous works.
I think Wirecast has to improve their product portfolio, their tutorials and also their apps (Wirecast Go is poorly designed, compare this to www.switcherstudio.com which I use in the field, intuitive and is robust).

Please post here and include details as well by filling out the feature request form. Be as specific as possible.

CraigS The entire paper has been read and checked very carefully and all the possible issues have been tested, and the reality is this that it is unreliable and when it works, its great and when it does not, it does not work and I cannot build my business on such unreliability. No chance. So I use now Zoom and will get back to Telestream after my big sports event and discuss my claim on the not working tools. Good to know I am not the only one!

25 % of the time, then 75 % the black screen appears and no connection. Is there any pattern to this? Specific Guests? Guests using specific browsers? Can they confirm they are seeing themselves in the browser (camera is properly working)?

They are using Wirecast Go - all of them. Their camera is working fine. Iphone 7, 7 plus and X and 8 have been in the tests. A few android as well, and they did not work either. The others on the Wirecast go could see and hear each other and even the person on the Android, but only one of the camera feeds came to me - the host.

SassePhoto - If you are willing, I am also maintaining a tracking database of open feature requests and bugs that have gone to Telestream. I would love to have your ideas in there if you are willing. End users can vote on the ideas, to help get community support for the good ideas...
Thanks.

Greg Kuhnert I have no idea, because that is not something I cannot use in this situation. We are doing a live broadcast of a fishing competition, so the feed to studio is coming from the boats on the lake :).
Simon Clarke they are on LTE. My bandwidths are receiving 40 000 kbit/s, sending 20 000 kbit/s and their around 4000-10 000kbit/s both ways.

If computer works for you 100% of the time, but Wirecast GO fails frequently - that would be a helpful data point.

Anne-Maarit Sepling Since it seems the guests see/hear each other, you can add them to your Rendezvous Dashboard, perhaps the issue is between your computer and the Rendezvous server.
Try a local test (phone in the same room as the computer so you have complete observational control) and either using Wirecast Go on iPhone or Chrome mobile browser on Android, setup a Rendezvous session to a phone and let's see if you get video. Test the phone using LTE (turn off the phone's wifi access).Post the results.
