Can't install Telestream Audio Driver after upgrading MacBook Pro

I have updated my system to the new Apple M2 Pro MacBook Pro.  I'm running Ventura 13.2.

In Desktop Presenter I'm getting a message, "Telestream Audio Driver Not Installed". If I click to install it everything seems to proceed properly and I am informed that the installation was successful.  But if I click on "Capture Audio" in Desktop Presenter I am again presented with the message that the driver is not installed.

Is this a known issue?  Can it be fixed?

Thanks.

John

It won't install. It's not compatible with recent macOS versions. Wirecast itself has the compatible driver for Screen Capture feature on the same computer.

If you're just using Remote Desktop Presenter on another computer on the LAN it's better to use the free NDI Tools Screen Capture which works with Wirecast.

  • According to the NDI link Screen Capture is listed as a Windows program.  I am now downloading the Mac version of NDI Tools that doesn't list Screen Capture as one of its assets.  I'll try it out and see if it will substitute for Remote Desktop Presenter.

    Thanks. John

John Baughman The Mac version has a different name. Scan Converter. It's the same thing though. It's odd that they gave them different names though.

  • The various NDI Tools look very interesting.  However, Scan converter doesn't seem to work on my new MacBook Pro with M2 chip.  Trying to open up a shot using Scan converter results in a dark screen. It seems that the computer running WireCast is unable to connect to the ip address of the target computer.  I've tried for several hours to get this to work. Maybe related to the security filters on the MBP with M2 chip.  I've tried to open all of the appropriate options in the Security panel.

You should contact Newtek about that ASAP.

Remote Desktop Presenter will not carry audio from any recent Mac and Scan Convertor (Screen Capture on Windows version) are the only good replacement.

Yes perhaps there's a Security issue on your M2 mac.

Unfortunately, we can't troubleshoot general statements. If you would like help you MUST include what you've tried.

You would need to look at Privacy & Security Screen Recording but without any confirmation, you've done that and what you see, activate, and other steps taken I'd just be repeating what you may have already tried.

Only when I have an accurate description or screenshots and steps can I see if a step has been missed or steps to fix a security issue.
