Upgrade recommendations? Want to be ready for 8k

We've been live streaming via Wirecast Studio Pro for many years (love it, barely scratching surface of capabilities).  Our PC is now struggling to be able to handle streaming 1080p to YouTube and 720p to Facebook (no local recording).

Our video capture equipment is all Blackmagic Design, and our camera is 4k.  So since we are looking to replace our PC, want something that can handle 4k now as well as 8k in the near future.

What would be good stats to be able to handle 8k streaming for Wirecast?  the Blackmagic Design doesn't really give hardware requirements...

PC base we are looking at is here: https://www.hp.com/us-en/shop/pdp/hp-z6-g4-workstation-p-7bg79ut-aba-1?pStoreID=epp

Plan is to add more RAM and SSD storage ( as well as the blackmagic design capture cards)

  • Processing multiple 8K sources would be a major strain. I think we're a ways of from streaming 8K. Xeon would be the way to go though. Most recent generation and as many cores as you can afford. You might even want more that 16 cores if you're going to have multiple 8K sources and streams.

  • I think when we get there, we'd only have one 8k source, with various other 4k and 1080 sources (scaled up), but that's a few years out.  Looking at dual 8 core silver xeon right now.
