Screenflow 8 & Catalina Major Problems - Crashes and Extremely Slow
I just updated from Mac OS Mojave to the Mac 10.15 Catalina official operating system release that came out today. Everything was working with Screenflow 8.2.4 on my iMac Pro fine prior to the Catalina Operating System upgrade from Mojave.
Since upgrading my iMac Pro to Catalina today, Screenflow appears to start but runs extremely slow on my fast iMac Pro. I can open previous videos to edit, but the problem is that whenever I try to make a new Recording, Screenflow crashes and terminates with this error message that pops up on the screen:
Recording Error
Due to an internal error, the recording has unexpectedly terminated. Please try making your recording again, and if problems persist, contact us for technical support.
This happens every time I try to make a new Recording using the built in iMac Pro webcam and the built in iMac Pro Microphone.
I thought that telestream would thoroughly test Catalina compatibility before its release to make sure Screenflow 8 worked with it.
Now I have a non-functioning video editing Mac! Please fix these crash and slow running Screenflow on Catalina issues on iMac Pros.
Thanks.

Per your suggestion, I have checked "Security & Privacy" Settings, to make sure Screenflow 8 app had permissions in various areas.
What I found was that Screenflow 8 app had access permission enabled under the following Privacy sections:
Camera
Microphone
Photos
ContactsUnder Accessibility, the ScreenFlowHelper App had access permissions enabled.
Under "Screen Recording" it does not show any apps as having requested this permission, and I saw no option to add permission for Screenflow 8 to it.
I am still unable to do any Recording using my iSight camera under Catalina. Please keep me updated with any suggestions or updates that might fix the problem. Screenflow takes forever to load and switch between screens under Catalina, where it did not under Mojave.
Thanks.

Yes that Fixed both the Slow Speed and the Error Message/Crash problem that I was experiencing with Screenflow 8.2.4. I had to Uninstall (Move to Trash) the Screenflow App that was in Applications, then I re-downloaded the 8.2.4 Install File from your website.
Once I did the Re-install of Screenflow 8.2.4 it now runs Fast Again, and it now will use my built in iMac Pro webcam, and then when I selected Screen Record, the Pop-up came up to enable Screen Recording in my permissions, which I clicked on.
Not sure why I had to uninstall and re-install just to get this to work, but thanks for the work-around to get Screenflow 8 working under Catalina.

Ron Cook If you attempt to record a webcam and its Mic you should get a popup to add Camera and Microphone. When you attempt to access your Photos Library in ScreenFlow you will get the popup for that as well. Only when there is attempted access will you get an option to add and you will then see it in Security & Privacy.

CraigS Thanks, but I have spent all afternoon trying to get this to work, with no luck. Permissions are enabled and just did it again, but each time I try a new recording I get the pop-up. We will miss our deadline today, so if there is anything you can suggest that could possibly resolve the issue, please let me know. I'm going to try a restart now.

CraigS This sounds like the same issue I reported in this thread that you confirmed: https://telestreamforum.forumbee.com/t/804rb9/screen-flow-preview-crashes-macos-catalina
