PC build - which balance of components?
For non-game streaming (ingesting 2 HDMI signals via 2 PCIe cards) and encoding 720p using Wirecast - what is the typical/general bottleneck in the system?
Is it the GPU (Wirecast can encode using QuickSync and Envenc - not sure how much help in reality this is) or CPU etc.?
Also, USB bandwidth (2 x USB3, 2xUSB2 on current 2016 PC) sometimes gets exceeded & fails (USB cam, mouse, external audio box) - Can anyone advise if 2019 motherboards should handle USB bandwidth better, or any particular feature/motherboard I should look for?
Thanks for any advice!
USB bandwidth is helped when there are more separate buses. USB itself has technical constraints on bandwidth and device management.
Bottlenecks depend on what you're trying to do but I'd rank CPU highly. Current generation multicore i7 or even i9 are preferred. RAM can be a factor, especially when using a lot of file based sources.
