How big are common screen flow files?

Hey guys,

I am new in using Screenflow and have the following setup:

- Desktop recording (Retina display, 13 inch, MacBook Pro 2017)
- Integrated camera: FaceTime HD Camera (format: 1280 x 720)
- Sound recording via Saffire 6 USB 2.0 (only channel 1)

To get not too big files, I just played a little bit with the frame rate of the recording. But even when I set only 1 fps on Desktop recording (24 fps on timeline), my files are growing about 6-7 MB per second.

A test record with these settings needed for 11 seconds 68,7 mb.

Is this normal or am I doing something wrong? How can I minimize the size of the file??

What surprises me: If I record with the highest frame rate, I get a size of 89,1 mb for about 10 seconds.. This is a bit strange in relation to 68 mb with only 1 fps, isn't it?

Thank you very much for your help!!

ScreenFlow file size is variable depending on the screen size and other sources. Retina Display recordings can be much larger than other monitor sizes. Frame rate and complexity of content are factors as well. ScreenFlow's recording is closer to an I Frame codec than a GOP type codec so the frame rate relationship is not strange at all. I frame codecs don't vary as much, They're larger and actually easier on system resources.
