WIRECAST GO - reconnection problems on Wirecast 15. No program improvements for 2 years.
Hello.
Wirecast Go no longer works properly after updating to Wirecast 15. There was a problem with reconnection when we lose connection for a while or when you need to restart the application on the phone or tablets. In order to reconnect I have to restart the main application which is unacceptable while streaming! I would like to add that the network parameters are very good and I work on symmetric 200 / 200mbs fiber internet.
Well. I should start with the term, why the application has not been updated for 2 years. Nowadays, the internet is even faster, phones and tablets have better capabilities, and the "W-GO" alternative camera or conference calling application, does not take this hardware development into account. Why?
I have a big request and a query to the developers, is it possible to think about the term of updating the program and improve its operation?
The general needs, in my opinion:
- correct connection link, in particular after breaking the connection or restarting the application, e.g. on a phone, tablet;
- mproved resolution of broadcasting from the application;
- quality encoding fix;
- the ability to set additional phone camera parameters, such as image stabilization;
- adding the ability to choose resolutions and framerates,
Personally, I use W-GO as alternative cameras, e.g. with an iPhone and it works great. After updating the main program to the Wirecast 15 version and what is happening on the market, I would expect a refresh and update to the "current times ;-)". We, as users, care about efficient operation so that our work is as effective and failure-free as possible.
Thanks.
Chris.
p.s. My computers is Apple M1 processors.

Sorry about your experience losing the connection between Wirecast Go and Wirecast 15.
The developers are investigating Wirecast Go connection issues and future development.
If you're trying to use your iOS device as a camera it's possible it may work better using Wirecast Go in Rendezvous.
Other alternatives are to use Newtek NDI HX Camera or Sienna NDICam although neither are freeKrzysiek Sobieranski said:

Wirecast Go in Rendezvous may use Wifi or LTG.

Internet would be using Wirecast Go with Rendezvous.
In either case, LAN and Internet connectivity improvements aren't likely to require significant changes in Wirecast Go when using it as a camera in Wirecast.
If you were using Wirecast Go to stream to a destination that certainly would require changes in Wirecast Go for certain destinations. It sounds like you're talking about Wirecast Go connected to Wirecast though.
Perhaps you should clarify since you have some conflicting information since Wirecast Go has several functions. -
Hello. All the time I refer to the WIRECAST GO application, which connects to the main application, i.e. WIRECAST, on the computer. I'm not talking about the WIRECAST Randezvous at all. So. I believe that the current version of GO, which has not been updated for 2 years, could be improved. In my opinion, the resolution is too low. I doubt it would be 1080p. Additionally, I do not know how many frames the video connection is in. The encoding quality is quite poor, even if I set 1200kBs. My comments refer to the fact that I want to use a phone with WIRECAST GO as an additional camera. That's what this app is for. Third-party software and applications for NDI provide better quality but it is an additional paid option and in my case WIRECAST Go works better and more stable. If only it wasn't for this poor quality, low resolution and reconnection problems… it would be great.

Wirecast Go over wifi LAN not Internet
Just over 2Mbits. There is no user control of this setting.
It can vary depending on the motion up to just over 3Mbits in my experience
iPhone Craigs is the wifi source in this case as it is already on and recognized. -

If only it wasn't for this poor quality, low resolution and reconnection problemsThe quality is limited by the bandwidth which the user doesn't have control over. Frame size in Rendezvous from phone is generally not HD.

Requests
for reconnect WIREMOB-538
for bandwidth frame size and frame rate setting WIREMOB-539
Additional parameters such as image stabilization is built into the phone.
