Switch audio monitor on and off with shot

It would be very handy to be able to control whether the audio monitor is on or off by selecting the shot as well.

  • Please explain why.
Keep in mind that each source has a mix-minus option so you can make sure it's not in the monitor when you take it live.

I imagine it would otherwise be very confusing since you already have that control on the shot level.

  • I would like to do this because it would be practical for hybrid events if certain sources could also be heard by the local audience via loudspeakers and others could not.

But the way you suggest it could also work at best. I try it ...

  • But for videos with sound, this apparently does not work!

It should work with any shot with sound. Can you give an example?

Jean-Pierre Kousz That would mean a Media File has no mix-minus.
Why would you want to remove a media file from the monitor?

CraigS For example, for hybrid events where a clip should only be heard by remote participants.

Then I also find things simply good when they are solved in the same way in all cases.

Only in Rendezvous but not local monitoring for example?

but the developers may need to hear more about why you wouldn't want the local audio playback of the media audio. Use case to understand value is critical to their decision.

CraigS We do hybrid event where the local audience sees and hears some of the same things as the remote attendees and sometimes something is played for the remote attendees that the local attendees are not supposed to hear.

Then it would be nice not to have to remember to turn off the local sound.
