Screenflow 8.2.2 crashing

I recently updated my computer to macOS Catalina 10.15.5 and since then, Screenflow (version 8.2.2) is constantly crashing, showing messages that it is unable to find files and to save projects because of that. It has been very hard to work like this, does anyone know what could it be? Is macOS Catalina not supporting older versions of Screenflow?

    The version of ScreenFlow need for Catalina is 8.2.6. We've had a number of fixes since 8.2.2. It's important to stay up to date. The link to 8.2.6 is here under Previous Versions near the top,

  • CraigS  I'm still having issues. Now it's not that it detects any error regarding the file, Screenflow is simply crashing when I open it. It doesn't last open more than 1 second. Any thoughts what could it be?

    Francisca FC Are you opening ScreenFlow by opening a document or are you just opening ScreenFlow?

    You could try deleting the cache and preferences
     

    Delete ScreenFlow Cache:
    1) Make sure ScreenFlow is not open. (save any work in progress)
    2) Open a new Finder window.
    3) Select the "GO" menu top of screen, Hold "Option" key with menu open, and select the "Library" that appears.
    4) In the Library folder open Caches folder.
    5) Delete ALL folders that start with “net.telestream.screenflow"
    6) Empty trash.

    Part 2:

    Reset ScreenFlow Preferences:
    1) Make sure ScreenFlow is not open.
    2) Open Terminal and copy and paste this command and press Enter:
    To open "Terminal" (Finder > Applications > Utilities > Terminal).
    defaults delete net.telestream.screenflow9

    • CraigS I have the same problem. Catalina 10.15.5 and Screenflow 8.2.6. Can I just try Part 1 first? I'm afraid to execute the terminal command. Thank you, Claudia

    Francisca FC You're welcome of course. Sometimes those files become corrupted causing ScreenFlow to crash.
