Rendezvous Guest Audio Degrades to Silent Since 12.2 Install

I've been using Wirecast with Rendezvous successfully for many months with the same guest on a regular schedule.

 

Since installing 12.2, I've had an odd problem. Right around 1 hour after we've been going, the audio from the Rendezvous guest gets choppy until it eventually goes silent.

 

Some notes:

- The live program (streaming and recording) can still hear the guest.

- If I re-open the Rendezvous panel (so Wirecast plays me that audio), I can hear them again until I close that panel.

 

It's the weirdest thing. As a software developer myself it made me wonder if some buffer is filling up or some counter is overflowing since it's been so consistent on the timing.

     So this is only impacting your monitoring? The guest audio to the stream and recording is good?

    That sounds like a monitoring issue. I'd make suggestions but I'd need to know how your audio and monitoring is set up.

    You may want to try resetting Wirecast Preferences and then create a new document and new session to test.

    Wirecast > Help > Send Support Information but select the lower left Reset Preferences. Restart Wirecast and use a new document and session.

  • Yes, correct, just monitoring and only after a certain period of time and only since 12.2 (though I can't say that's what caused it).

     

    I opened a support case and will be trying to reproduce and capture more logs.

  • Hunter Hillegas Since it's a monitoring issue you may test alternate monitoring configurations to see if there's a specific cause. This way you can determine if it's a specific configuration or device being impacted.
