PNG MOV's & 7.2

Hello! I've recently upgraded to 7.3 and one of the key features for me was being able to import PNG type MOVs for lower thirds from After Effects. Now, it says the file type is not supported. Is there a way to go back to 7.2 or will there be support going forward for PNG type MOVs?

Why I use PNG MOVs? PNG MOVs are very small in file size and plays very smoothly without slowing down the stream. I've moved over to using the Animation setting which makes huge files that slow down the stream.

  • It may depend on the operating system. Apple may have changed the way PNGs are handled so certain types of PNGs might present issues. I'm on MacOS 10.12.3 and can handle PNGs, Quicktime Animation and Apple ProRes for lower thirds. It's possible PNG in MOV container isn't supported.

  • You can link to any of your source files, and I will test them on my system.

  • Thanks Craig, I'm updating my system currently since I did a fresh install last week. The PNG in MOV container was supported in 7.2. I've attached the PNG in MOV container. The ProRes version is 3x the size of the PNG version. Really appreciate the support.

  • Thanks for that. I've tested in Wirecast 7.2 on macOS 10.12.3 and it doesn't open in that version either. Perhaps you're on an earlier OS?

  • I tested Wirecast 7.2 on OS 10.11.6 and Wirecast can't open it there either.

  • Perhaps put in a request for support for PNG in MOV container and explain why and they consider compatibility.
