Stuttering Scrolling Text

Good Afternoon,

Relatively new Wirecast user here. We are going to be using it for a live "news" style cast that will be going out to hundreds of thousands of viewers and we are trying to get everything just right before we switch over to it.

Only real issue I have run into is the scrolling text at the bottom of our broadcast (ticker) is very jittery, especially when selecting and de-selecting different shots on different layers. I have tried changing speeds and finding the one that runs as smooth as possible - generally the slower ones (30-60 pixels a second). It is especially an issues when, like I said, selecting or de-selecting shots. I also made sure the display under advanced preferences was running at 60FPS.

Has anyone run into any issues like this or does anyone know of a way to fix this?

  • Have you tried using the Crawls in Titler Live?
(the jump is because I'm posting a looping GIF but it's smooth).

  • Again slight jump because of the GIF loop but the actual crawl is very smooth.

  • I am having this very same issue - and for the price of this software, I think the response from Telestream is poor! I've used FREE programs with perfect smoothness. smh

  • I have the same problem. The only response is reset the preferences. I dont want to use Title Live. This should be a basic, standard, no issue feature of wirecast. In all my streams there so far the scrolling text crawl is not smooth and jittery.

You need to fix this issue. Its a huge problem

Alex Hopkins Have you updated to Wirecast 14.0.4? Scrolling is much better. It may be further improved in 14.1 beta.

If you feel there's an issue please include version and an example.
